The History of Genesis Hair Design
“Genesis gives that little bit extra which makes
us extraordinary...”
Patsy and Ron Hunt took over the salon in 1989 and Genesis Hair Design was born. Paula Marr joined the team as a trainee in August that year. While studying at York Technical College, Paula gained her practical training in the salon itself. She completed a range of courses with Wella in cutting and colouring.
The highlight of her training was a three-day personal development course at The Stephen Way Salon, New Bond Street in London, during the summer of 1994. There, she gained a new outlook on hairdressing, learning to embrace clients’ lifestyles, challenges and ambitions. This new approach to hairdressing took her to another level in training, client care and provided unlimited scope when assisting clients in caring for and maintaining their hair.
In 2000, Louise Hunt (Patsy and Ron’s daughter) took over the salon and continued to create and improve techniques to help maintain excellent client care and provide home-care advice. Today, Genesis Hair Design is now in it's third phase under the ownership and management of Paula and her husband, Lee.

Genesis Hair Design has four stylists, a receptionist, weekend staff, and Ron Hunt is still their resident Barber. Their mission remains to be the best they can be and number one in the area. They maintain good values, welcome criticism, appreciate excellent results and are always eager to learn.
